Port of Entry

Hi,My sister got an admit for Masters. Will there be any problems at Port of Entry if she travels to my place in US and then goes back to her university before her classes start. She was complaining that it would be an issue at Port of Entry. Is it really a issue?

Its never a problem.. My port of entry was far away from my university....They don't care about it....

Not a problem in many cases. But be prepared for entry at Chicago, if it is the case for you. Your sister can justify by showing proofs like travel tickets, Address proof of yours.

I dont think so because I did the same too. I did nt even show the tickets that I booked. The i20 explains enough

When is she coming to US, there is a limitation of 2/3 weeks before you starting school, if she is coming a month before, then there would be an issue at the port of entry ... Do make sure what your I-20 says, and when you planning to bring her here

They will Never Care About it, Just make sure that she is having the Address of yours Handy if in-case they ask.
