It might have something to do with local legislation or payment methods. Some companies ask for your location to know the time when you are available. There might be multiple reasons for that, and you might contact the company to find out why they need your location and their privacy policy. They should promise your personal data is safe with them, and if it gets leaked, you can sue them.
That’s why I like Sarkari Exam – they don’t ask for too much information about the applicant. Most employers there don’t care about your location or any other personal data – they care only about your knowledge.
