Travel Insurance: Claim Denied on basis of Pre-Existing Condition
Recently my neighbor’s Parents visited him here (Age 65+).
Unfortunately, his father suffered from a stroke and was admitted to ER and did couple tests. He was diagnosed, but nothing major happened and was discharged. He is doing well now and safely returned home.
They had Patriot America Plus Travel Insurance (First Health, powered by IMG).
All the expenses were billed to the insurance, but they denied the claims saying Pre-Existing Condition.
His father is perfectly healthy and was never admitted in past few years. He doesn’t even take any medicines on a regular basis.
Please guide/suggest/comment on how to appeal or proceed with next steps if you or your family/friends have experienced/heard about such condition previously.
Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you for your time.
