Name Spelled Incorrectly on EAD Card. Can I work with copy of my OLD EAD card?

Hi..I had applied for EAD card and sucesfully received it. But my name printed on it had a minor Spelling error.I had to resend my form and card itself too to issue a new corrected EAD Card.
Since my OPT starts on June 24th, I highly doubt that I would get my EAD on time. I want to ask that, Can I start my job Job on 24th June even if my new EAD doesn't arrive on time, considering I have a copy of my old EAD card.

I had the same problem. I actually received my new card within 7 days.
The mistake on the card, in your case, was it USCIS error or the form was filled incorrectly? If it was USCIS error, you just need to apply for a new card under USCIS error category (This can be easily done over the phone), and you will receive your new card within next 7-14 days.

Few minutes ago I faced with same problem. Call USCIS Customer care and say that it is giving you a negative impact and your request will be processed in 5 days

I have the same problem. I expedited the process. you can call USICS and the customer care rep will list you all the options and would like to know for what possible reason you want to expedite the process. pick up the option of "USCIS ERROR ".The agent will assign you a case number and it should not take more than a week to correct the type error.

Yes you can work with your old one till you receive the new card, provided the mistake is on their side...

I guess I am not the only one.Its USCIS who do this to lot of people out there but the good thing is that they rectify it on an urgent basis. I went through same phase.used my old OPT card..joined the company and then I mailed it to USCIS for correction.Your employer just needs to verify the start and end date on your OPT card, so it should not be a major issue.Good luck

Actually...I mailed back my EAD card and just have a photocopy of it..
My EAD was issues by Vermont Center, so I had to mail it back to them....Its been 10 days that it has reached there (as per Fedex tracking) and still no intimation hasbeen there

I file complaint on phone to USCIS around 15 days ago but again I haven't received anything Yet..

What should I do next..I recently call USCIS again and they tell me to wait for 30 days period..

Since time is running out...plz suggest what should I do next

All I know is through USPS that the parcel has been delivered. My start date for Employment is on June 22. The parcel reached to USCIS was on June 3rd. Is there any chance that I can receive it before June 22?

I am also in the same situation. I called USCIS customer service and raised a service request. As per the response I got in email, I sent my EAD card and other documents last week. I haven't got any update yet.

When I check USCIS case status with my EAD card#, it shows I received the old card. When I created a login and added the EAD card#, I can see that a service request has been raised, and they sent the response of it.

Did you get any acknowledgement after sending the EAD card. How long did it take for you to receive the new card. I have an offer and want to join in 2 weeks. Please let me know how did you follow up.

I am in the same situation now. Did you receive any ack/update after you sent the documents back to USCIS or you just directly received the card in mailbox without any update?
