Transfer from one degree to other-months time before the next classes begin

Hi, I am a transfer student. I have taken the admission, my F1 status is valid, my SEVIS has been transferred. However, my session would start after three months.
*Am I under any repercussions from Immigration, since I am in US and not registered for any classes? (My first semester at other school would start after three months.)
*Are there other options for me?
*Should I travel to India or somewhere else to come back a month before the start of my classes, or this is not required?
