  • Eligibility of Opt for second masters If first masters opt denied

    Hello Everyone,

    I have few questions on OPT. Recently my initial opt denied,As i already completed grace period i reentered from mexico with new i20 and sevis.

    1.Can i apply Opt after completing second masters?
    2.Will different sevis number on visa be a problem if i apply opt?
    3.Will first OPT deniel cause problem?

    Can anyone please answer my questions

          I think u need a higher degree!? Uscis isn't going to issue 2 opt for the same degree level

            No you cannot apply OPT again at masters level. You have to complete PHD for opt now. Denial means you used your OPT oppurtunity at masters level. USCIS doest care if it was approved or not. Your application went through whole process.

                denial is denail might be any reason u haven't used opt so u can still aplly again

                    Hi friends,

                    I have a question regarding the SEVIS. My H1 didnt got pick for this year and i'm going to do my second Masters. The thing is i got the Admission in a university from Sep 4 but my visa is going to expire on July 19th. I made the arrangements for my SEVIS transfer to the new university on 16th July. So is there any problem for my status if i stay in US without going to university for 2 months? I heard that i have grace period of 60 days to register into a new university after my visa expiration but suddenly i got a doubt regarding that. Please let me know if i'm wrong or let me if there is any problem with my current situation.
