  • When does spouse's name have to be included in the green card process?

Hi all, thank you all for all the help that you guys have been providing to everyone.
I have a couple of questions regarding spouse's GC:
My employer is going to be starting my Green card process in Jan/Feb 2015, and I will be getting married in Jun/Jul 2015.
    (a) Is it ok for me to start the process in Jan, or do I need to wait till I get married so that my spouse can easily get his GC too?
    (b) After marriage, my spouse will still be in India for a year. Does he have to be here in the US for me to be able to include him in my GC process?

I'd really appreciate any advice on the above.
It would be great if you could post any reliable links too for further reference.
    Thanks again!

    - Ash
