  • Transit Visa at Heathrow Airport, London

I will be traveling to India in mid November from SFO with a layover on Heathrow for 5hrs . My H1B got approved this year and it will be getting stamped once I am there. I recently got to know that we need a "Direct Airside Transit visa" for that. Can anyone who has recently traveled comment on this?

Hi .. I had the same doubt when I booked my tickets . One of my friends recently went via London last month - and had no issues . So should be fine .

I had a layover of 4 hrs in Heathrow on my way to SFO from India. No Visa was required, as long as you don't go out of the airport. So you don't need to worry!

If u have a valid US visa ( can be anything F1 L1 etc )stamped on ur passport then u do not need a transit visa in London. If u only have H1 visa copy then u need a Transit visa. You can check with British consulate too.

              Hi Guys ,
So this DATV visa comes into picture only if the traveler has no valid US visa right ? If he still holds the valid f1 visa does he need to take a transit visa ?? Or this transit visa is not at all required irrespective of US Visa ?

Why do you guys go thru Europe and end up getting abused/treated like a criminal. Travel thru Dubai/Doha and get treated like a King!
