Is there any problem if I graduate in summer 2013 ? Do I waste 9 months?

Is there any problem if I graduate in summer 2013 ? I.e, in August month am planning to start my opt on sep 15 , my friends warning me that if u graduate in summer 2013 u waste ur opt like 9 months they said me 2 ways
1) if u doesn't get job till oct 2013 , u won't get till march because in nov and dec the market will not be that good
2) if ur opt starts on sep 15th u should apply for H1 before 6 months of my opt ending date they said like comparing with spring and fall , summer is very crucial and not that good to grad

Opt application month is April. U can start opt 2 months after graduation to. I graduated in aug 2012, my opt started oct 2012 and expires oct 2013. Although nov/dec r slow months. Honestly on present conditions and to make it worse opt the situation is not really good all year round. The major u r doing is very important too!

First part is true i learned it hard way... After october everyone is in holiday mood no one wants to hire till late feb march...
