I am 2012 fall student. I am issued with my visa only for 2 years. If i want to extend it further whats the exact procudure

From what I know, either an admit from a university in the USA can extend the F1 status, or a company in the USA which is ready to provide us with a VISA are the options. I'm not sure if we can extend the VISA, although, this is how renewal works. Correct me if I'm wrong, or if there are other answers, I'd like to know. But this is what I know to the best of my knowledge.

its for my education
