Passport size photo requirement for EAD card

Hello Friends,

Any idea whether the requirement that the photo must be 2"x2" is a strict one? I didn't know of the requirement earlier & sent 1.8" X 1.4" photos (usual indian passport size photos). Did anyone's application get rejected due to incorrect photo size?
