How to get through the automated message of USCIS ?

Hi,

I am trying to contact USCIS to expedite by OPT application. I requested for a August 4 and my application was received on June 2. I already have offer letter from my new job. I am unable to get through the automated voice system of USCIS. If any one knows how to get through that automated system and speak to a real person, please let me know.

Go for the option that says "you have lost or forgotten your receipt number" and it will take to you to a real person on the other end..and from there on you can tell him/her your situation and file an expedition request....

Can we file and expedition request. Can you throw more light on this please. Because even my date is getting closer but it still shows initial review as the status :-|

Yes u can file expedition after u have filed. As palwinder said...

In my case its been 70 days but still its showing Initial review. Uscis received my packet on may 3rd and my start date is Jul 3rd.

i spoke to them few days back on same situation.. i have selected to check my status option and then automated voice will say ur status.. then listen to the options and select 3 to speak to the representative.

u can try dialing these numbers following the automated voice... 1,1,1,1,1,1,3
