Need to travel on OPT for Important reason. Can I travel if I don't have Job?

Hi,I will be completing my graduation in December and don't have a job yet. Trying hard to get it before December.I need to travel to India in December for an Important reason.

-Is it good to travel to India on OPT without a job?
-Will there be a problem at the port of entry of USA?

I have mixed responses,so want to confirm the answer.

It is not good to travel
you can feel secure if you have job in hand...
