STEM OPT F-2 Visa

Friends,

I am on STEM OPT, getting married in india next month , read in some forum F-2 visa is not given to spouse's of STEM-OPT candidates, is it true? Anyone on STEM opt got F-2 visa for their spouse?

PS: STEM valid till July-2018, F-1 visa valid till 2019, i am currently employed.

That's BS, you can apply for F2. I know someone who did at work

Unfare, How long you are in f1,it's irrelevant of opt or cpt or stem. You have a chance to obtain f1 dependency I.e f2.

You can get the F2 visa easily

As per rules, your spouse can get f2 however alot of times, it also depends on the university you graduated from.For example, if the university doesn't have proper accreditation. If you graduated from a state university, the chances of getting f2 are very high. Hope that gives you an idea.
