OPT EAD card delayed :(

Hi

I just graduated in Dec 2016. I applied for OPT, USCIS received my docs on Oct 19,2016. I received RFE for photographs. The date on the RFE letter was 11-Jan, however I received it in my mail box on 18-Jan 2017. I submitted the photos by overnight fedex service and USCIS updated the status on 26 th Jan, 2017 saying they received the correspondence and are reviewing it. Its been more than a month they received my photos. I have no reply yet. My OPT has already started on Feb 1, 2017.
So I have even lost 26 days of unemployed time.
I tried calling USCIS however they say the same thing as the status on the portal?
Not sure what should I do in such case? How long it usually takes to get RFE? What happens if they don't get back with EAD withing my 90 day period of allowed unemployment? I have lost 2 job offers for not having EAD in my hand. I am not sure what should I do in this situation. Any help is highly appreciated!

I am also on the same page. Graduated on 22, Dec 2016. I am about to lose my offer if I don't get my EAD in 2-3 weeks. My OPT application reached USCIS on Nov 16,2016. Received RFE for photos. The date on RFE letter was 13 Feb but I received it in my mail box on 17 Feb. I submitted back on 18 Feb and USPS tracker shows that DHS, VA has received it on Feb 21 and signed by K Lubsy but USCIS has not updated the status. I am wondering how many days they would take to update and process it.

As of my knowledge for the questions you have asked.
1. Your EAD given start date is Feb 1, 2017 but your OPT start date will be differed by the USCIS officer to the date when they approve it in most of the cases.
2. Since, the USCIS has already received your photos they have 60 days to respond to it. In your case you may have to wait for 1 more month.
I think you should contact your DSO and ask them for better suggestions.

1. Did your RFE come from potomac service center.and have you sent it back to DHS, VA and collected by K LUBSY?

Thank you for your answer.I was not aware that the officer can differ the start date of my OPT card. I hope I receive my EAD card soon. Don't wish to miss the third offer. Fingers crossed.

I received RFE from potomac and I sent it using fedex overnight service. I don't remember the name and tracking number as my status got updated on the portal, I disposed off the tracking receipt.
For me it took around 1 week for USCIS to update the status on USCIS portal. However I have seen folks whose status update took like 3 weeks.
If you don't see the update in 3 weeks call uscis and submit a service request. You can also give them the tracking number that you have.

You mentioned to ask DSO. Not sure what that means?

DSO is designated school official, the person who gives your i20 at international students office at your university. you should let them know your situation so they can provide any advice if needed.

You are not accumulating any unemployment time. Unemployment time cannot accrue until the card is actually approved.

The 90 day duration starts on the date given on your ead. The start date shall be adjusted forward to accommodate the date that they process your documents. Don't start counting yet. Also as long as they're processing your documents you won't fall out of status.

The uscis speed has increased considerably in past 15 days . You can expect decision soon .

Tentatively you gave a date of Feb 1, 2017. But USCIS, won't issue the same date, if there is a delay from their side. So, in this case the issue date will be ur OPT start date.

Hey, i have the same situation its been 3 months since i received "Correspondence Was Received And USCIS Is Reviewing It" could you tell me how long it took for yours to approve? would really be helpful.. Thanks in advance.
