Anyone E-filed STEM Extension (i 765)

I am close to my OPT end date and don't have much time. I sent the paper application a week ago but I haven't gotten the receipt yet. Maybe the application got lost. Can I e-file STEM extension so that I can get the I797C (receipt number) instantly and have piece of mind? Most DSO's don't recommend e-filing but since I am too close to my OPT end date, would it be a good idea to e-file? Any suggestions will help.
