Initial OPT Request For Initial Evidence

Hi,

I had applied for my Initial OPT EAD card on October 5, but yesterday I received an update from USCIS on the website as Request For Initial Evidence Mailed. So I wanted to know what could be the reason for this, and after sending the documents how much more time can it take to receive the EAD card? Has anyone else met this situation before?

Do not panic. RFE can be received for any reason as petty as photographs not according to the standards. Just wait for the letter and provide necessary information. You should be good.

An rfe is very normal. They may ask for anything like your degree transcript, photos, etc. If you took cpt then the rfe might be related to cpt as well. So just wait for the mail to be delivered for now.

I have a question similar. Mine reached them Oct 18. It still shows case has been received without any further updates.

It's only been lil over 60 days ... wait until 90 days and if u don't see any update, call USCIS service center. They will expedite process as needed.

Also when you filled, did you include transcripts/ diploma?
