My opt has been denid due to elapsing of 30 day filling reqquirement as per DSO recommendation on the opt i20 . So i filed an mtr. unfortunately which is denied too.. So i was asked to reenter US now with a new i20 from a new school. The new school gave me a new sevis record.
I am planning to do that. So which port of entry would be better to do that and also is my visa valid since my sevis is completed with old school january 11th...?? Or do i need to take a new visa?

Go to Cancun, Mexico and re-enter from Charlotte, NC.

Non Republican states are better for POE... Houston is my preference!!! But if you have an i20 from a new school, just choose that city as your POE.!!!

If your visa has not expired then you do not have to get a new visa. You can change school with your existing visa..hope this helps.

Had the similar situation.. if your student visa is good for another 6 months to 1 year - no need of new visa (does not matter whether you have old sevis number with old school) and texas - dallas is a good port of entry. However this happened to me last year and I heard there are some changes in rulea so u better ask your international admission head from your current school. Also u can refer sevis.org for regulations on this..
