Received opt Start date one month earlier than what I requested

Hi,

Please help me in taking my decision. I have received the EAD card. but the start date I requested was 6th February 2017 but I received as earlier start date like 6th January 2017 which is one month earlier than what it is requested. But when I was given post completion OPT I20 the start date requested was 6th February 2017 to 5th February 2018. Will USCIS allot one month earlier ?? or is this any USCIS administrative error. ?? Or IS it fine to continue with same card ?? I need someone to help me

Is the end date same as what you requested ? If yes then it will b 13 months initial opt which it shouldn't be .. It must b error by uscis make sure u get that corrected .. Earlier I had same issue I got 3 months early start date and I got that corrected later got a new card with correct start date

Start date in OPT card should match the date requested in I20. If it does not match the I20 dates, please call up customer service and raise a ticket.

What is the exact date that you applied OPT STEM?
