Hi Guys:
I am writing today out of some unfortunate events. I had applied for OPT extension mid of Januray 2013 as My orginal OPT was getting over on 16th February. I was approved a OPT extension Card, by USCIS and it mailed in to an address that I had given on the I765 form. But due to some issue the OPT card got lost in the transit. After that I spoke to the National Customer Service center of USCIS and they informed me that I am still in status, it is just that there is no physical proof on my end. So in order to resolve that I have to file another i765 application along with the same filing fee and documents. No w after 60 days or so from the date(29th April 2013) of my second application, I have received a letter of Denied OPT extension request. I searched through some forums and got to know that I had to check the "Replacement card" checkbox on the I765 which I believe I did not.
But now that this letter says my application is denied and I can appeal again through a different form I290B. So basically my question here is that do we have any suggestions for me to follow through. And, Yes there is a miscommunication on their end as they think I am filing for a OPT extension outside of my deadline, which is not true. I was merely applying to get the replacement card.
