  • Stem OPT Extension Working hours limits

    Hi all,

Please suggest me with below questions.

I am on my inital opt and applied for stem extension with Employer A (Everified)and with these employer only I filed i983 and applied for stem extension.Doing unpaid intern with these employer.

And I got a Full time job offer with Employer B(who is not Everified).

My question is on stem opt extension, if i work with employer B for 40 hrs/week (paid work) and Employer A for 20 hrs/week (paid work after opt extension).

So total 60 hrs/week with Everified and without Everified employer.

    Can we work like these?

    Guys any suggestions please?

On stem ext you have to work for E-verified employer, you cannot work for a non-e verified employer, not even unpaid. Plus, you have to list all your employers on your i-983. You cannot work for any employer who has not signed i-983 for you, its a violation of the law.

Regardless of how many hours you work, all employers you work for during the STEM OPT period must be enrolled in E-Verify.
