Travel to India on OPT !

Hi,

I have F-1 visa and, currently working on OPT. My OPT will be expiring on May 27 2017 and, I am aware that I can apply for an extension 90 days in advance so (from Feb 4 2017). I am planning to travel to India in Feb 9th -March 4th 2017 so should I apply for OPT-STEM extension and, then travle or, we should finish travel and, apply at the end on March 2017? Can we apply and, then travel ? Please suggest.

nothing like that. You will be fine.

You can also apply while you trave but on a serious note, either option would work. The risk is not the time of the application but your documents during re-entry.

It’s best not to travel when the STEM OPT extension is pending.
