H1B Start date

Hi

I'm currently in OPT Extension period and my opt last date is November 14th 2016. I work for a non profit organisation and they sponsored H1B for me and it is aproved from December 1st. At present, I'm working for the same organization. My question now are:

As my H1B is sponsered by a non Profit Organisation, and so not eligible for any CAP Gap
1) Can I stay in US between Nov 15 and Dec 1st .?
2) Can I work during these 15 days.? If Yes, Will be there be any query in Future and Is there any better explanation we can provide for the Visa Officer.?

Can some one help me answering the above questions at the earliest. Thanks in advance.

u cannot work but can stay in that 15 day gap... I thing upto 60 days u can stay... confirm with your company attorney...

1. If your OPT expires on November 14, you should be entitled to 60 days of grace period. You can remain in the U.S. for up to 60 days after your OPT expires.
2. No, you absolutely cannot work. If our H-1B was approved as a change of status, your status will change to H-1B on December 1 and you can begin working on December 1.
