STEM EXTENSION Dilemma.

Hi, I graduated from X university in February 2016 and started my initial OPT in March 1st 2016. The issue here is the degree that I completed in Masters in not coming under STEM and I am not eligible for STEM extension. My OPT is ending by February 2017 and I am planning to enroll in Day 1 CPT college and maintain my work status.

Question: 1. If I do my 2nd Masters in a STEM degree, will I get STEM extension after I graduate?
2. Is it possible for my employer to file H1 in FY 2017 through CPT Documentation?

Technically, you can get your h1b while working in CPT. But there is always the risk that, uscis can deny your h1b, if they feel that your case is not genuine and that you are abusing CPT.

No OPT for second master

To use your stem extension you must be enrolled in an OPT. If Opt expires and you enroll in a stem degree it will be of no use since you cannot use your stem extension as it can be only used once after your opt and opt is granted once for each level that is undergrad, masters, phd. Since you have used your opt once on masters you will not be granted another opt after second masters and thus no extension is possible in your case. and Yes you can file your H1b on your cpt documents.
