Attacked by robbers

Hi
I am a student on f1 visa
I work in a liquor store for part time
Last night a group of gangsters robbed my store while I was working. They used filthy language while they are robbing, then after group of police officers came and took my statement I told them I am his cousin and after some questions I told them I am a student and I am not working here.
He took my last and first name and also school name
Will I get any problem now I am in my final semester

I am an attorney who has helped several students in this situation. First, please do not lie to any police or federal officers. They are there to help you, not to harm you. Second, you might be in violation of your student status by working without authorization. Third, I have helped such students apply for what is called a U Visa which allows you to get work authorization once it is approved, and also apply for a green card subsequent to getting the visa. To get the green card, make sure you talk to attorneys experienced in U visas which are for victims of crime. U visa would be your best choice as I can think of.. Take roughly 2 yes for approval but you should be okay... Good luck
