OPT Extension Query

I am currently pursuing my master degree in Industrial Engineering with specialization in Supply chain Management. I want to work in the Field of ERP/ Database in software industry. Though I am switching field, I have supporting courses to show in my curriculum. I have taken MIS courses like Production planning and control and Engineering Supply chain Mgmt. and also an IT course called Enterprise IT Integration. With these courses as a part of my curriculum, do I have a strong case to file OPT extension that can be granted beyond my 12 month OPT period? Some guidance will really be appreciated!

I would rather advise to talk to the professors first if you are eligible to work in the mentioned fields or not. They are more experience than us and they better know the career options of your major and also how many credits do the mentioned subjects account to??
