Hi,
After graduation I joined Consultancy A,they helped me get placed at Client X. Consultancy A is located in New Jersey and my Client workspace in California. Also Consultancy A was not cooperative in providing I983 and also not supportive to help me with OPT stem documents. Hence I joined Consultancy B without informing Consultancy A. But my Client X impressed by my good work, offered a new project, which I didn't want to miss. I joined consultancy B but continued to work for Client X.
Now Consultancy A has issued me summons for breach of contract from Court of New Jersey. I need to answer for that summons in 30 days. They are expecting compensation for the damages which definitely would be a large amount.
In California, non-competence is not enforced, employee can change company at will. I'm not sure if this holds good in New Jersey as well. I'm ready to hire a lawyer and fight the case but need advice on how strong is my case in favor of me. I don't have any proof against consultancy A. Please help !!!
Thank you
