Unemployment Period

Hi,

How many no. of days can a person stay unemployed on OPT extension? Does no. of days unemployed prior to OPT extension also count in this period?
What are the consequences of being unemployed for more than the specified period of time?

if u are on stem u get extra 30 days ,,, so if u havent use the 90 days of default opt , then those 90 days get rollover to ur stem and total becomes 120 days ,

I think the total unemployment period on OPT is 90 days irrespective of STEM.. If you are unemployed for more than 90 days, nothing happens but next when you go for registering your employment, they will verify that your unemployment period has exceeded 90 days and you will have to face the consequences. So always be careful with it!
