Stem OPT card received after H1 approval

Hi,
I got my stem OPT card in mail today for an extension of 2 years. However my H1 was already approved and sent which I notified the college DSO about. Now I dont know what choices do I have? Is it a plausible idea to utilize the step OPT for another 2 years without the tension of being on H1? Do I have a choice to keep OPT extension and not take H1 or is it taking a big risk? Now that my H1 is approved, does my sevis automatically gets updated to H1. Will there be a clash of status if I delay in getting it cancelled. What will be the process to cancel the OPT now?
