Hi all,

I have a question, My H1B is approved. I have a family emergency.. Willing to travel to India. My OPT expires on Sept 14th but USCIS automatically extended it till Sept 30th which is printed on the I20. Can I travel to India in this situation? As my EAD card is expired will I face any prblm at the time of immigration in US.

You got to get stamped before you come back (stamping wouldn't be required if you land again in the US 30 days before H1 activation and your EAD is active without Cap-Gap, but that is not the case). Please take the risk if you have the required documentation for H1B stamping.

You can travel but if you return back on or after oct 1st then you need to have valid H1 stamping.
If you come back before sep 30 then it all depends upon your answering to cbp officer questions at port of entry.
I would suggest you to carry necessary documents while travelling and get your H1 stamped

stamping now a days has a wait period of 2 months so prepare for stamping from now itself to check the slots good luck
