Hi, i need a help to get driving licence in Pennsylvania state. I already have licence from another state which is expiring this month, recently i moved to pennsylvania . My initial opt is going to end on feb 12 2017, i went to nearest dmv to transfer and renew my licence. Here the main problem is, they can't transfer or renew my licence as my work authorization is not more than 6 months( counting from sept 2015 to feb 2017). I asked them how can i drive the car until feb 2017, i requested them to give atleast for 5 months, then i can get STEM opt ead, but they are not willing to do that. Please help me regarding this issue, is the rule same for all other states? If not name some states which are close to PA so that i can gather some proofs and get my licence.

I got my license in may 2016 my opt expried in sep. there is only 4 months gap. I live in virginia. The dmv rules are different from state to state. Even if you go with proofs they simply say this is pensylvania and we have different rules. My suggestion is to try ur luck at another branch of dmv.Comment

PA is strict about DLs to foreigners . They wont budge on this rule of 6 months. I would suggest you to get it from NJ or any other state which is liberal.Comment

PA Dmv sucks, they don't give you license if you have work authorization less than 6months.Comment

Cant you go back to that "another" state and get it renewed. You can always keep driving with other state licenseComment
