OPT expired, Stem OPT denied, Can I work if I plan to file motion to reconsider.

My OPT expired on June 15, 2016. My STEP OPT 24 month work authorization application was received on May 16, 2016 and got denied om Aug 23, 2016. I have not recieved the notice yet for denial in mail. Just wanted to know my options.Can I continue working until I get the denial notice in mail if I gonna file for motion to reconsider- if allowed?

I was fairly prepared for this situation. All is well.

You are fairly prepared! do you know that it will be rejected, what is the reason.
Even i am in the same situation my OPT expired on May 12 i know i am out of 60 day grace period, waiting for decision.

you can open a MTR it may take upto 3 to 7 months average but cannot work if you have a job already in hand try to join in a day one cpt university and start working and apply fo h1 in april .

You can work upto 33 days after filing mtr. But you'll be legally in status until mtr resolve
