  • F1 to H1 Visa Conversion in Canada/Mexico

    Hi Guys,

I have a question regarding the F1 to H1 visa conversion. I'm planning to visit Canada/Mexico instead of going to my home country for stamping. But since the date are very packed till December i want to visit one of these countries for my visa conversion. I did some research on recent cases who visited Canada for stamping and what i heard is they are getting RFE/Denial if we visit Canada for the stamping. I haven't heard anything about the Mexico stamping cases. If you know any information regarding this please comment here and please do suggest me with the best option for stamping.

    Thanks in advance,
    Meet.

fresh visa or visa renewal is always safe to file from one's own country mostly because of delay in processing time, unless you have a place to stay longer in a third country. for the same reason visa officers decline visa to stop, starting an unhealthy trend.

Was your case filed as a Change of Status or a consular notification case? If your case was filed as a Change of Status, you don’t need to go for stamping. Your status will automatically change to H-1B on October 1.

              lisaanderson,

Thanks for the response. I'm planning to visit to my home country for vacation. If i have to return back to United States i need H1 stamping for that. So thats the reason i'm looking for the options to get the stamping.
