opt status

I applied opt stem 17 months on april 29 ,they recieved documents on may 16.My case status is still states case was recieved.I was changing my employer so i updated my univ .they told me today that checked my sevis status which says rfe is issued .I did not get any RFE yet I contacted USCIS .One representative there told me my case was under process call next day to know about rfe.Another representative told the same and forwarded the call to some other person who told my case was denied and i will get a mail within a week.How can my stem denied without even being issued an RFE? is it possible and if it is my case status still reads case was recieved and my univ told sevis states rfe was issued.plrease advised me what to do.

When was your I-20 signed? If it was more than 30 days from the date of your I-20 being signed by DSO and May 16, USCIS will deny it. Why would you not have filed the application by Express Mail, FedEx or UPS?

If it was still within 30 days, you’re going to have to wait until you get the notification from USCIS.
