Hi guys, I'm on F-1 OPT. I graduated this May. My EAD card journey has been extremely frustrating.
I filed the application in March. The card was approved and mailed to me in early June. However, it was lost in the mail. USPS status showed it was delivered to a "final agent", but I never received it. USCIS told me I had to apply for replacement of the card. So I filed another application. Unfortunately, I made a stupid typo with my friend's address, so the receipt was sent back to USCIS in late July.
I called USCIS to update my address and order a copy of the receipt notice. However, they only sent me a "non-delivery notice" stating my receipt was not delivered. Although I do have the receipt number now, my employer is asking for the original receipt notice to grant me the 90-days window before arrival of EAD card for I-9 verification.
On the "non-delivery notice", USCIS said I should contact an email address ([email protected]) to order the copy of the receipt. So I emailed last monday, but I have not received anything yet.
I called USCIS customer service again today. The representative said she was not able to do anything. But she also said I could probably schedule an INFOPASS appointment to see if the officer could issue the receipt.
Does anyone have any experience? Will INFOPASS help?
Thanks a lot!!
