  • OPT Extension Change of Employer

    Hi All,

I have applied for my OPT Ext with my Employer on April 18th, 2016. After may 10, 2016 i got an rfe stating me to provide the new i-20 for 24 months. Since my Employer is not willing to give me the form i-983 i have changed my Employer and sent the new i-983 to my college. My college did updated my sevis record and sent me the new I-20 which has 24 months requested on it. I have posted the file to USCIS, but now i am worried that do i have to send the new i-765 form to the USICS ? since i changed my employer ?

No, you did not have to file the new I-765.

Not required just send the required documentation as requested in your RFE with amended i765.
Also attaching a letter form your new employer will help as well.

I got mine approved with no issues

          Good luck

As far as I know you should hv sent amended i765 form with this since you have changed the employer .. Because ur i20 will hv diff employer & ur 765 will hv diff employer, wch s a miss match .. Don't worry if they hv any ques I guess they ll send another rfe

You need to file for an amendment.
