OPT ending soon; travel to india

Hi all,
I am on a 1 year OPT and my current OPT is ending in Jan 2017. I am working through a consultancy to a client and since it is a long term project, I am planning to enroll in some day1 cpt university from jan 2017 to continue working to the client.
However, I might have to visit India sometime in Oct/Nov. Can someone suggest if it is safe or will I face any consequences?

It is okay, but i suggest not to travel. However it depends on the officer to allow you back. Carry all the necessary documentation if it's mandatory.

They can ask you, since your OPT is ending soon, have you applied for extension? If yes,will check receipt as well for extension. If not, then its a grey area I guess.
