  • Stem Extension - Working for a Non-Profit Company

    Hello all,

I am working in a Non-Profit Company (IT - Team), but i go through American Based Staffing Firm. The staffing firm would be my employer for an year. Its a long term contract to hire position, so i don't know when would the non-profit company take me in as full-time employee.

I have learnt that the staffing firm isn't an E-Verified employer and so does the non-profit company that i am working for.

If the non-profit company isn't in a position to offer me a full-time and sponsoring for my H1, then i would have to apply for STEM Extension (24 months). If this is the case, then i would have to extend my contract with the staffing firm to continue working in the company. But as the staffing firm isn't a E-Verified employer, i am worried that how am i going to get my STEM Extension approved

Guys, i would really appreciate if you can help me to handle my situation. Is there any way out?

Thanks for your valuable time in reading/commenting for my question. You are helpful!

Either the non-profit company must sign up for E-Verify or you will need to find a new employer who is E-Verified. Staffing companies cannot fill out the I-983, anyway, as they are not supervising your work.

Either get the staffing form eVerified or look for a new eVerified employer
