Submitted my OPT Application, Can I change my Start Date?

I have applied for OPT on 18th may. My application is under initial review. Its been 15 days only till now. I would be in trouble if they dont approve by 15th July.just now my professor updates about getting funds so that he can pay me on OPT. Is there any way I can expedite my OPT application process. I have given the starting date to be 15th july.

I applied on 30th April and got my OPT approval after some wait on May 30th. At least give it one more week! Your application just 2 weeks old. Wait for a 2 more weeks keep checking the status! Most probably it will be approved before July 15th. Good luck

Did you apply with offer letter ? because I applied on 29th April and it is without offer letter ... and my status still says initial review....

No I applied without Offer Letter. Your application status will change in couple of days if everything is right! Good luck!

Usually the card takes 6-8 weeks and not 90 dats as mentioned on the USCIS site. However, the end of Spring and Fall semester the load of processing increases as all graduates tend to apply at the same time. Hopefully you should have the card by then. I got mine in 50 days...

call the USCIS customer service number and ask them to expedite it under the severe financial loss criteria. give them the reason that you mentioned. they will let you know in a week if they can expedite it

I'm guessing you will get it by July- mid. Mine went to Vermont and I got the card in my hands in 6 weeks. Don't stress it out for now.
Also, I feel many abuse the expedited processing option by citing all sorts of reason. Well, we ar supposed to give them 90 days before we ask for any expedition. Not sure if the request is usually accepted. I would just wait until the end of this month and then make a request.
