coming back to USA a week before OPT expires

Hey,
My OPT expires on June 14, my F1 visa expires on 26th June. I have applied for OPT extension but it has not been approved yet. Is it safe to travel outside the country and then come back on June 5th. I will have a proof of applying for my OPT extension. can they deny me entry because my OPT and F1 visa is close to being expired? Please let me know. Thanks!

On your F1 visa, you should have min. 6 months to enter the country. If your OPT EXT is approved, you have to goto consulate and get a new stamping. Without that you cannot enter the country. I traveled when my initial OPT expired and came back inside with the approved STEM extension. But I had my visa for 2 more years, so it was okay.
I would recommend you not to travel at this time.
