I got laid off while I am on OPT. I have one month before OPT expires. I also have an approved STEM OPT EAD card which is starting after one month. My question is whether STEM OPT will still be valid even if I am not employed by the employer using which I filed for STEM extension. If it is valid, then I get 120 days of unemployment. Is that correct?

Your STEM OPT is still valid even though you were laid off. You are entitled to 90 days of unemployment during your original OPT period and 120 days for your full OPT + OPT STEM period. Find a new job with an E-verify employer.Originally posted by Taurean View PostComment
