Opt expiring in 4 weeks, am I eligible to apply for extension now?

Hi,

You guys are doing great job helping all with their immigration related questions. Need your advice for my situation.

My OPT is expiring on May 10th & my OPT extension application packet was delivered to USCIS on 24th of March. On April 11th I got an email from my University saying that my OPT packet has been sent back to University from USCIS (reason unkown yet). It's hardly less than 30 days for my OPT to expire. If apply for OPT extension again, would I be eligible for OPT extension as mine is expiring in 4 weeks.

Need advice on this guys.

A STEM extension application will be accepted as long as your OPT is still valid. It’s a good thing you filed early. When refiling, make sure to get a new I-20 signed because the I-20 must have been signed within 20 days of the date USCIS receives it.

Just make sure that your new application reaches USCIS before your current EAD expires.. Give yourself at least a week's margin..

Yes u can .. but make sure u r uni to change recommendation made date for 30 day rule
