ABC company running payroll on DEF company - STEM extension - SEVIS records

Hi,
Greetings!!

Currently I am in initial OPT period. I am working for "ABC" consulting company since Feb 1st 2016.
But "ABC" consulting company running my payroll on "DEF" company(sister's company).
I have updated "ABC" company employer details in My University. And recently I had applied
for my STEM extension with "ABC" employer details. The question is, Do I need to update the
"DEF" company employer details in the University? Does this affect on my SEVIS records?
Please help me out. Appreciate your help.
