OPT start date

Hi,

I have question regarding opt start date. While filling form I-765 I gave start date as 12/25/05, but my opt got approved on 02/11/2016. Now what would be the start date of my OPT?

No, Your start date is what you filled. Approval doesnt mean you can start before.

In his case opt is approved after the date he mentioned in application. So start date Will be 02/11/16

Start date is the filled date only if the EAD reaches on or before the mentioned date, else it will be the approval date

No. the opt start date will be 12/25/2015 as this is the date you requested on i-765. Your OPT should end within 14 months after graduation
