OPT application before graduation

Hello all,


I completed all my course work and defense by December 2015. But I missed the graduation application deadline. I applied to graduate in may. Also I applied for OPT on December. Recently I contacted my international office, they want me to register for 1 credit hour course in order to keep my sevis active.

So, registration of any course will affect my OPT application?
