Hello everyone
My I-765 application was accepted and routed to the USCIS Texas Service Center for processing on October 23rd 2015. My application decision went beyond regulation time and after putting in an inquiry on 7th Jan 2016, my I-765 form for employment authorization was approved on 12th January 2016. As per my case status, my card was mailed to me on the 15th of January. I received a tracking number only on the 28th of January. Upon tracking my EAD card, I found that the card was out for delivery on the morning of the 19th of January from the local post office, but was never delivered to the mailing address.
Upon contacting USPS, I was informed that USPS had misplaced the mail consisting my employment card and could not find it. They are prepared to give a letter stating that they misplaced my card and cannot find it.
I was supposed to start work with my company on February 1st. Since my card was misplaced by USPS, I will lose out on my job unless I receive my card soon.
Is there any way for me to work sooner or expedite the process of getting a replacement card? I am extremely tense and I don't want to lose out on my job due to a mistake that I have not committed. I have been advised to put in a new I-765 for the replacement card. I have read of this rule where I can work using my replacement card application receipt for a period up-to 90 days, until I receive the actual card. Is this applicable even in cases when you haven't received your EAD card in the first place?
Any advice in this regard will be helpful
