I-765 Notice Undeliverd and returned to USICS

Hello Guys

I applied for I 765 OPT Authorization and got receipt number on email and as text message on my cell phone. It said on December 29 case was received. Today i checked and it says uscis got notice back as USPS could not deliver it to my address. It also says that " It may have serious effects on my case" I already submitted e- request for copy of notice. But i am worried that due to this will it effect on my opt approval.? Kindly advise.

It will not affect OPT approval, but you need to make sure USCIS has your correct address on file and that USPS is delivering mail to your address. What USCIS is warning is that if receipt notice cannot reach you, the OPT card may not reach you if and when it’s sent.

if you live with your relatives, you have not mentioned their names on C/C that is why the letter is not received by you and sent back to USCIS.. Dont worry call them ASAP and do notify that its a correct address.. I had similar problem but I am on OPT now..

USCIS does not send duplicate receipts.. but just update your address, you will be okay

Thanks for your reply. Actually i dont live with my relatives. My other room mates got their letters but i only did not get. I send e-request and they send they re-send the receipt. This time i filled the form and wrote my name in c/c. Did you got your opt card late beacuase of this? did you got any RFE or some thing due this? Thanks for your reply again

I got my opt on 84th day after i applied.. dont worry they will adjust your dates if its gonna be late but usually you will get your opt card within 90 days. Yes do mention your name in c/c because deliver guy may not able to verify your name on mail box thats why he didnt drop your card.. but nothing to worry if your documents everything is okay, you wont get RFE..

Do you remember how much time it took for you to get your I-797 to you? Actually on Jan 29 i got an email from them that they re send by receipt notice but i didnt got it yet. You mentioned to check for the address. I called them but they say they do not have access to our personal details. Can you please tell me how did you verified your address? Your replies are really appreciated, I am tensed and donot want to have any effect on opt. Thanks a ton again!
