Will stem extension be denied if submitted after 30 days of DSO signature.

Hi,

Due to postal reasons, I was not able to submit my OPT Extension to USCIS with in 30 days of DSO signature. My current opt expires on Feb 8. USCIS case status says "My Case is Received". Can i resubmit my application with new I-20? What are my chances of getting an approved OPT Extension Card.

Please advice.

I was in similar situation, I applied for stem extension with 2 month old i20. It worked for me and my extension was approved but then again a lot depends on the visa officer handling your case. So, better to check DSO. Good Luck.

You have not explained what “postal reasons” are? Did they refuse to send your application? Is it USPS’s fault that the application reached there late even though you mailed through Express Mail? If not, then withdraw the application and re-file.
