OPT Crad not received

Hello,

I will be graduating on dec 23rd, and will be off status after that. I have applied for OPT and case still pending.. I have a job offer on Hand gg which starts from dec 24th.

can I start from 24th even before I receive the OPT card ?? Called uscis and they said that they don't care and it depends on employer policy.

Assuming I will receive card in january 15th which is a good 1 month.

Can I work from Dec 24th-Jan 15th without having OPT card and update once I received it ?

You absolutely can't start working before you have your opt card in hand, and usually it takes atleast 60 days to get EAD and with holidays coming up, it might take longer.

Strong no. It is illegal to work without the card in your hand. The process is not as simple. It takes about 60-90 days from the date of receipt to approve OPT. Then it takes about a week to receive the card. You won't be out of state as your application is pending. If your company wants they can expedite the process. Check in USCIS website.
