    Hi Guys,I am waiting for my OPT card to arrive. Until it arrives, can I volunteer in a company that needs help (related to my field)? Also, is it okay that I get paid? Thank you in advance

    as far as I know, you cannot work without EAD from OPT, be it paid or unpaid. It is illegal to do that on F1.

      Answer is No, you should not work for any company without your OPT card.

        If your school allows to work as off-campus, you can work with pay, till you are on OPT. If the school doesn't give that option, you shouldn't work off-campus with or without getting paid (legally).

          You can volunteer before you get opt but cant get paid. If u get paid it is considered illegal. At least u cannot be paid by check
